Tyler received a bachelor of arts degree from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, majoring in political science and statistical analysis. He then received his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law with a concentration in advocacy and dispute resolution.
While in law school, Tyler focused heavily on his commitment to access to justice. He held the position of Director of the university's pro bono association and coordinated multiple pro bono legal clinics, including clinics devoted to assisting victims of the 2016 Smoky Mountain wildfires.
Tyler has experience from both sides of the aisle, having worked at multiple district attorney offices while in law school and clerked for multiple judges in Knox County, Tennessee and Volusia County, Florida.
He is admitted to practice law in Alabama, Tennessee, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. He is currently serving as the bar commissioner for the 40th Judicial Circuit.
Tyler and his wife, Kaley, live in Lineville, Alabama, with their children.
